Ready to Buy a Home? The First Thing you Should Do

home in philadelphia

Transcript:

When a buyer calls me and says, “Nancy, I would love your help in buying something”.

My first reaction is, “Oh my gosh, that’s music to my ears” because I want to help everybody buy something.

But it is important that we both are on the same page.

So, a client interview, be it in person, socially distanced of course, and/or on a zoom call is really important.

You want to make sure that everyone in the event, both buyer, buyers partner, husband, wife, mother, brother or cousin are looking at what needs to be looked at.

When a buyer says, “Nancy, can we work together?”, my answer is always yes.

At the same time, we do want to make sure that we have the same realistic expectations based upon what somebody’s needs and wants are.

So the first action I want someone to do when they say, “Nancy, I want to buy a house will you help me?”

I say, “Of course, let’s get together a list of what you need and what you want, and then we’ll go from there.”

Have you met with a lender?

Where are you going to pay for this thing from? Do you want to pay cash?

Are you putting three-percent down, twenty-percent down?

Is a family member helping you?

What if you walked into the perfect, perfect home tomorrow at 12:15 pm?

Are you ready to buy it at 12:20 pm?

Those are the sort of questions to ask the buyer to just make sure that we’re all on the same page.
